All eight Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE campuses have computers with Internet access for student use.
Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE is progressively offering selected courses and course units online via the Online Learning Management System. Many courses are now supported and supplemented with online resources, interaction and communication tools. Teachers will supply usernames and passwords if necessary.
Childcare facilities are available at the Cairns and Innisfail campuses and in the local community at other campuses. The Cairns TAFE Community Child Care Centre is available for TAFE students and staff and other parents from the community.

The Johnstone TAFE and Community Children's Centre is located at the Innisfail campus on Flying Fish Point Road. Phone (07) 4061 7051 for further details.
Canteens operate at the Cairns and Innisfail campuses, while most other campuses have common rooms for student and staff use. The Eurest canteen in H block at the Cairns campus is open Monday to Friday, providing hot and cold food, sandwiches, salads, desserts and drinks.
Common rooms housing fridges, microwaves and tea and coffee facilities are located at the Atherton, Bamaga, Mareeba, Mossman, Innisfail, Thursday Island and Tully campuses.
The coffee shop is situated on the ground floor of the tourism and hospitality building (S Block) at the Cairns campus. It offers a variety of dishes prepared by apprentice chefs and served by food and beverage students as part of their training. Prices are very reasonable. The coffee shop is open on various days, usually from 12-1pm only.
Named Cairns Restaurant of the Year 2003 by the Catering Institute of Australia, Tropics Restaurant in S Block at the Cairns campus offers five-star dining at affordable prices.
Enjoy three to five course meals prepared by 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentice chefs from across north Queensland, complete with table service provided by Certificate II and III hospitality students. S Block is also home to the Queenslander Restaurant, open at various times during the year. For all bookings and enquiries, please phone (07) 4042 2664.
The Banggu Minjaany Art Gallery in R block at the Cairns campus stages exhibitions by current and former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visual arts students and professional artists. Exhibitions also are held in the Y block gallery at the Cairns campus.
Hairdressing apprentices frequently require models for hair cutting, perming, colouring and treatments at the TAFE training salons. They create great looks at affordable prices. To book, phone (07) 4042 2550.
Certificate IV in Massage and Certificate IV in Shiatsu students run clinics throughout the year. A one-hour treatment costs just $25. For more information, session times, or to make a booking, phone (07) 4042 2489.
The Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE library is located at the Cairns campus. Students studying externally, or at a campus other than Cairns, may request resources to be posted to them. Visit the library services area for more information.
