Access and equity

The Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE promotes the delivery of services that are responsive to the diverse needs of our many communities.

The institute encourages participation and access to vocational education and training in a manner that meets individual needs.

All staff have a responsibility to ensure that student selection for programs is non-discriminatory and encourages fair access for people from groups that are under-represented in vocational education and training.

Teaching staff also ensure that access and equity considerations are integral to the development of training programs and support services.

Disability services

Tropical North Queensland TAFE acknowledges the valuable contributions people with disabilities make to the workforce.

We are aware that a disability is not a barrier to a successful and productive working life.  We actively encourage people with disabilities to participate in the workforce through providing quality training.

Tropical North Queensland TAFE offers support services to all students with disabilities or medical conditions studying at all Tropical North Queensland TAFE campuses.  Our services are well established and ensure equality in training by minimising disadvantages experienced by all students with disabilities.  Whatever the disability may be, we will do our best to provide our assistance.
