Marine Engine Driver 2
Subjects from TDM30207 - Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Marine Engine Driving - Grade 2)
Description
This practical course will equip you with sufficient skills and knowledge to take charge of the machinery aboard vessels of specific classifications, according to Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) operating guidelines and requirements.

Certificate of Competence as Marine Engine Driver Grade 2.
Entry Requirements
You must be 18 years of age, have a minimum of year 10 with a sound achievement in English and Mathematics or the equivalent, or gain mature age entry.

Pre-requisites (offered as separate courses)
You should already possess a Certificate of Competence as a Marine Engine Driver Grade 3.  You must also have successfully completed the following courses:


  • Elements of Shipboard Safety or Certificate of Safety Training
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (current)

Assessment procedures
Assessment will be conducted via observation and oral questioning techniques in a practical assessment of operating procedures, maintenance and fault finding, as well as written assessments.
