| Careers & Pathways The ‘Certificate of Safety Training’ (sometimes known as STCW95) is an internationally recognised certificate and is the mandatory minimum requirement in order to serve onboard commercial vessels and luxury yachts in international waters. If you intend to work in the maritime industry overseas, this certificate is the minimum qualification you will require. |
| Entry Requirements You must be a minimum of 16 years of age and will need to complete a medical declaration prior to commencing fire training. You must have a Senior First Aid Certificate is required (Section A-VI/1-3) and will need to provide a copy of your certificate on the first day of training. |

Assessment procedures Assessment will include written assignments and tests, as well as practical demonstration of skills. Different organisations may conduct various aspects of the assessment. This course involves extinguishing fires and strenuous water activities. 100% attendance and involvement in all practical activities is required for successful completion.
