International
Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE is the largest provider of vocational education and training in the Cairns region. The institute has nine campuses. All international students are enrolled at the Cairns Campus, which enables them to take advantage of the wonderful attractions in the region.
From the city centre, Cairns campus is accessible via the public bus service, 12 minutes by bicycle or by a brisk 20 minute walk.
Approximately 200 international students join more than 1000 Australian students on campus each day. International students have access to support services through the International Student Unit, including counsellors, accommodation services, overseas student health cover, visa information, tutors and employment information.
There is also access to 24-hour emergency phone numbers through the institute and Medibank Private, a library, social activities, bookshop, canteen, restaurant, coffee shop, access to student haircuts, beauty therapy and massages, ATM, public phones, basketball court, commercial kitchens and bakery, plant nursery, and free Internet access seven days a week.
