The 2011 TAFE Graduation Fashion Parade has been hailed as the best yet.
More than 300 people were dazzled by the 11th TAFE Graduation Fashion Parade at the Hilton on Thursday, 24 November.
The 12 Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology students presented truly outstanding garments, each bearing their personal signature, TNQT Institute Director Jo Pyne said.
"This year's fashion parade was a fantastic success," Ms Pyne said.
"I have had so many people comment to me that the parade and the garments that were showcased were certainly as professional and original as any that you might see in a capital city fashion parade.
"I was immensely proud of the students' creations, from their quirky takes on wearable, sustainable fashion through to their stunning individual collections.
"The quality of the teaching that they have obviously experienced in their course at TAFE could equip them for some brilliant future careers in the exciting world of fashion.
"On the night, our guest designers and past TAFE graduates, Sonya Alba-Miller and Liana Hastie, presented their latest, highly acclaimed Sonlia range," Ms Pyne said.
"The beautifully tailored Sonlia garments and our graduates' cutting edge designs demonstrate that in the far North we have some remarkably talented, TAFE-trained designers.
"I can hardly wait to see what creations next year's fashion students present at the 2012 fashion parade."
