About Cairns Maritime Academy
Cairns Maritime Academy at Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE delivers training to all arms of the marine industry, including fishing, transport and supply, trading, general charter, diving, tourism and super yachts.
The Academy specialises in training programs which prepare students for local, state and federal licensing exams, subject to the requirements of individual agencies.
Cairns Maritime Academy has its own training vessel - the MV Jenny Lind - and utilises the latest in communication and navigation instrument technology in the classroom and at sea to provide the best possible training to clients.
Cairns Maritime Academy boasts dedicated teachers and support staff with the skills, knowledge and extensive industry experience to deliver quality, effective and relevant training to clients and industry.
It is industry driven, working closely with the far north Queensland marine industry and guided by an advisory board comprised of industry representatives throughout Queensland. This advisory board guides the provision of TAFE marine training across the state.
Cairns Maritime Academy is a member of the Australian Marine Training Network Cairns and the Super Yacht Group Great Barrier Reef.
