Aged care training project

The project

The Department of Health and Ageing has engaged locally based Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver culturally appropriate, accredited and targeted training to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care workers working in eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focussed aged care services in rural and remote regions of Queensland from December 2010 to July 2012.

This training is completely free of charge, will be tailored to meet the needs of both your service and your workers and will be delivered on-site in your service/community.

Who can attend training?

Training is primarily for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander aged care workers. All coordinators of eligible aged care services are also encouraged to attend.

If there are any extra training places available and your service agrees to additional people attending training then the following people may also attend:

Training will not be organised or delivered if there are no Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander aged care workers attending.

Training available

All participants completing accredited training courses will receive a nationally recognised certificate.
